Birding festivals take place throughout the United States and almost year-round. Consider this list just a sampling of the birdwatching events that can delight and inform you!

Please check the event’s website for the latest details before you make travel plans. Specifics can unexpectedly change between the day we share this list and the week of your potential outing.

September 12-15 in Rockport, Texas: HummerBird Celebration. The 25th anniversary of the event will feature visits to hummingbird-friendly homes, speakers and workshops on various topics, and hummingbird banding. (Website here.)

September 22 in New Haven, Connecticut: Lighthouse Point Park Migration Festival. With a focus on bird, butterflies and dragonflies, the schedule includes live bird shows, bird banding, children’s activities, lighthouse tours and bird walks. (Website here.)

September 27-28 in Grove, Oklahoma: Pelican Festival. Anticipate American White Pelican tours on the Cherokee Queen riverboat, entertainment, arts and crafts and food vendors. (Website here.)
